Grilled Watermelon Steak

Ingredients

  • 1 large watermelon 
  • 30 ml olive oil 
  • 5 ml sea salt 
  • 2.5 ml black pepper 
  • 60 ml fresh mint 
  • 15 ml honey 

Instructions

Step 1

Preheat the grill for direct cooking at 400°F/204°C.

Step 2

Brush both sides of watermelon steaks with olive oil and season with sea salt and black pepper.

Step 3

Place watermelon steaks directly over the heat and grill for 2-3 minutes per side using a Cast Iron Skillet or directly on grill grates, until grill marks form and the watermelon is slightly caramelized.

Step 4

Remove watermelon from grill and let rest for 1 minute.

Step 5

Drizzle with honey and sprinkle chopped fresh mint leaves over the top.

Step 6

Serve warm as a unique and refreshing grilled side or dessert. Serves 4 people.
